Meet Jarnia & Jason. High School Sweethearts from Linwood High School here in Christchurch.
Jase, Being a ‘Butcher by Trade’ for over 40years and knowing the best quality cuts of meat that can be enjoyed , decided to try his hand at creating possibly the best pie in New Zealand !
Jarnia on the other hand is a crazy foodie who is constantly looking for the Wow factor in new flavours she finds around the globe! When she creates a recipe she envisages ‘Every Bite’ that will be consumed.
Together they have created The Butcher’s Pie over the past 10years and now have a wonderful team , who they consider family .
Bringing a dream to life! That dream - to present the ‘Best Pie YOU might ever try!’.
The meat is braised for 6-8 hours to intensify the flavours and create a soft tenderness that makes our pies a pleasure to eat.
Jase began his butchery career as an Apprentice of the Year New Zealand. Now in his 50’s, he believes quality is what we need.
Know what you are eating , because we make everything from the start. Golden pastry , laminated to create the puffiest of tops for our pies and then gently placed on the trays for filling. Butcher hand cut meats braised to a tenderness so Devine.
Hand stirred pie mixes . Hand filled pie trays and hand cut pies. Because we care.BUT have you tried our Cheese or Date Scones?
We’ve gone from making 6 a day to 60! We take this game seriously too! Made Jarn’s Mum’s way with Buttermilk , Cream and Lemonade.
Soft and oh so cheesy. But wait! There’s More! You can try our Cinnamon Scrolls , Our Donuts , Dagwood Sandwiches and delicious slices at either our Rolleston or Blenheim Road Bakehouses.
Or a good old fashion Pea Pie Pud at Riverside - loaded with Gravy! Or even Pie Chips and Gravy. Keeping it simple so we can do it better !

"Delicious FAMOUS BEEF ROLL ! Gees I wish these were available at Safeway. There is often a line of 6 or more (to be satisfied) customers, but worth the short wait as service very efficient. Warm yummy & it hits the spot !"
"Cheese and Steak Pie is amazingly good. I went all out and got the mash peas, potato mash and gravy. They really piled it on and i reckon it was over 1kg worth of a meal. Really tasty and great value. I just wished there was more cheese in the pie though but overall still a good pie."

Staff are lovely as well, overall just a great experience! Value for money is outstanding as well- $5 for a top quality pie should be illegal!! Come here and thank me later."
